As Rhossili is a search and rescue team as well as a cliff team it is vital that we carry some search and rescue equipment for such cases, some of which is listed below.

Search bag contents: Lifejacket, ordanance survey map, compass, pencil and paper, emergency telephone list, whistle, first aid kit, safety helmet, safety lines, spare radio and torch batteries, waterproof bag for radio, space blanket, torch and maglites, 2 x para illuminating flares, 1 x maroon, 1 x whitestar, orange smoke and barrier keys.

The floating line is a brightly coloured buoyant 10 mm line ending with a soft eye suitable for connection to the tail of a lifejacket.

The gas inflated lifejacket has a 275 newton buoyancy for use with the torpedo rescue buoy. The lifejacket is fitted with an integral safety harness and crutch straps that are used to clip on to the torpedo life buoy and is used to throw to a casualy that is in trouble in the water.
